RFM Beliefs & Values
Our Beliefs
We confess the Nicene Creed as a declaration of our unity and the foundational truths of our faith, affirming the eternal nature of the Triune God, the work of Jesus Christ, and our ultimate hope.

I. Belief in God the Father
-
The God of the Bible is a person, not an abstract force the Father Almighty.
-
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
-
He possesses ontological uniqueness as the creator of all things visible and invisible.
II. Belief in Jesus Christ, the Son
-
We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God.
-
He is eternally existent and ontologically equivalent to the Father, being God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made.
-
He is of the same essence as the Father; through Him all things were made.
-
We affirm the incarnation and deity of Jesus Christ: He came down from heaven, and was made human by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary.
-
His atoning work was completed on the cross; He was crucified, suffered, and was buried.
-
We affirm the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ: He rose again on the third day, ascended to heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
-
We anticipate the second coming of Jesus Christ: He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will never end.
III. Belief in the Holy Spirit and the Church
-
We believe in the personhood of the Holy Spirit, who is the Lord, the Giver of life.
-
The Holy Spirit, like the Son, is eternally existent and ontologically equivalent to the Father, proceeding from the Father and the Son, and is worshiped and glorified with them.
-
We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic church, affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and to life in the world to come.
*Note: The word catholic means universal and not Roman Catholic.
Our Values
Ancient Near Eastern Context
We value faithful interpretation of Scripture by engaging its original historical, cultural, and Ancient Near Eastern context. We believe deeper understanding of the biblical world strengthens sound doctrine, guards against distortion, and enriches discipleship.“Study to show yourself approved to God.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (NASB)
Scriptural Holiness
We believe God calls His people to a life of holiness, formed by grace and expressed through love and obedience. “Like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior.” 1 Peter 1:15 (NASB)
Sanctifying Grace
We affirm God’s grace that forgives, renews, and transforms, empowering believers to live holy and Spirit-led lives. “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NASB)
Wholeness
We affirm God’s desire to restore the whole person spirit, soul, and body through the saving and sanctifying work of Jesus Christ. We pursue spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical wholeness as part of God’s redemptive purpose.
“May your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (NASB)
Life in the Spirit
We value the present and active work of the Holy Spirit, who empowers the Church for worship, witness, and mission. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.” Acts 1:8 (NASB)
Ancient & Future Faith
We embrace the wisdom of the historic Church while remaining open to the fresh movement of the Spirit today. “Stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught.” 2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NASB)
Community & Shared Life
We believe discipleship is formed in authentic Christian community marked by love, accountability, and shared life in Christ. “Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24 (NASB)
Sacred Inheritance
We believe God’s covenant purposes are carried forward through generations. We are committed to forming disciples across all ages, honoring spiritual fathers and mothers, and equipping the next generation to walk faithfully with God.
“One generation shall praise Your works to another.” Psalm 145:4 (NASB)
Mission & Witness
We are a sent people, participating in the Great Commission by forming disciples and bearing faithful witness to Christ. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations." Matt. 28:19 (NASB)
